First MENA-OECD Women Business Leaders Forum & Business Day

The First MENA-OECD Women Business Leaders Forum & Business Day which will be held under the auspices of H.E. Mrs. Suzan Moubark, First Lady of Egypt on November 27, 2007 and Second MENA-OECD Investment Program Ministerial Meeting: " Making Reforms Succeed: Moving Forward with the Investment Policy Agenda", which will be held under the high patronage of H.E. Prime Minister of Egypt, His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Nazif on November 28, 2007. The two events will beheld in Conrad Hotel.

This Ministerial Meeting is organized, jointly between the Ministry of Investment, the General Authority For Investment of Egypt and the Organization of Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), within the framework of the MENA OECD Investment Programme, implemented in conjunction with the Good Governance for Development Initiative. Together they shape the MENA Initiative on Governance and Investment for Development, which aims to promote broad reforms to enhance the investment climate, modernize governance structures and operations, strengthen regional and international partnerships, and promote sustainable economic growth throughout the
MENA region. 

The second MENA-OECD Investment Ministerial Meeting will bring together Ministers and high level personalities from 18 countries in the MENA region as well as from OECD member countries and international organizations to discuss the direction of investment climate and business climate reforms undertaken recently by many Governments in the region. Private sector participants will be actively participating in the Business Day preceding the Ministerial Meeting, during which the establishment of the MENA-OECD Women Business Leaders Forum will be announced.

800 Egyptian businessmen and 200 MENA-OECD Businessmen are expected.
The specific features of the Ministerial Meeting will include:

* Matchmaking between investors in the MENA region and investors in the OECD countries, organized by the General Authority for Investment of Egypt and UNIDO in cooperation with eminent businessmen associations in Egypt, MENA and OECD countries.

* Preparing bilateral separate meetings between businessmen delegations and the MENA ministers.

* Presentations by Ministers: Ministerial delegations will be making presentations on their country's economic reforms.

* Analytical Outputs: Papers prepared by the OECD commenting on the investment reforms in the region, as well as country reviews conducted by the OECD.

* Presentations on Enhancing women role in the Economy: Achievements & strategies.
