workshop on Gender Equality in Practice organized by the PSU Egypt - November 5 - 9, 2007

We have the pleasure to announce the forthcoming workshop on Gender Equality in Practice organized by the PSU Egypt and instructed in Arabic which will be held in Alexandria, Egypt during November 5 - 9, 2007. The workshop will take place at the Palestine Hotel, in Alexandria, Egypt.

The workshop is adapted from CIDA’s corporate gender equality course given in Canada. The objective of the workshop is to promote a common understanding amongst CIDA and its partners regarding the links between gender equality, sustainable development, and poverty reduction within a right- based framework. It aims to assist the Arabic speaking CIDA counterparts as well as the CIDA project management and staff in better understanding the CIDA GE Strategy for the Egypt Program. The workshop also aims to assist participants in practically implementing this strategy in the CIDA projects.

The four-day Arabic training session will represent a unique opportunity to facilitate a common understanding of the importance of GE integration across CIDA’s work in the region and to encourage exchange of experiences and information.

Accommodation of participants from outside CIDA will be covered by their own organizations. CIDA on the other hand, will cover training fees, training material and transportation from Cairo to Alexandria and vice versa.
The workshop briefing, accommodation costs and the registration form are attached which are to be sent back to us before the deadline of October 16th, 2007.

Please note that we will not be able to accommodate more than 5 participants from outside CIDA in this session. Your early registration is therefore recommended.

We look forward to your participation at the workshop. For more information please do not hesitate to contact Ms. Faiza Riad or Ms. Diala Saad by phone: +202 27942125, + 202 27942199, + 202 27945901 by Fax: + 202 27964148 or by E-mails: faizariad@egyptpsu.com or dialasaad@egyptpsu.com
