General Summery
The
project Sustainable Economic Opportunities for Women, SEWO-MENA is implemented
by CRTDA, Lebanon over a two year period from January 2006. The project
works in 5 countries in the MENA region, and provides a sustainable framework
to assist and support women to participate in their country’s economies.
The project focuses on training and building the capacity of women in
economic literacy, leadership and entrepreneurial skills. It also aims
to creating locally based support for women’s economic participation.
As it enters the second phase, the team is introducing initiatives to
enhance women creating economic opportunities. In June, CRTD.A along with
Al Majmouaa organized a joint roundtable discussion entitled “Small
and Micro Credit Services” attended by local NGOs and development
practitioners. Further, CRTDA organized with their partners a 5 days TOT
for NGOs and Governmental Organizations.
